The two-way phenom,?Shohei Ohtani?s ulnar collateral ligament tear, has gravely affected him. Questions of whether he can even play are terrifying to the MLB world. Amid all the buzz, while Ohtani evaluates his medical options of what will work best for him, his agent made it public lately.
A career-altering decision stands right before Sho-time as he transitions to free agency. He was expected to undergo a Tommy John procedure for the 2nd time due to his arm injury. However, there was a definitive conclusion once his agent, Nez Balelo, recently spoke up. This was the first time since 23rd August the media was addressed about how the ?procedure? will be handled.?

It is clear that approaching free agency, Ohtani?s injury is a huge blow to the upcoming $500 million contract. Which is why making a decision has been crucial. On Monday afternoon, agent Nez Balelo, addressed American Leagues? presumed favorite MVP?s plan. From his suite at Angel Stadium, Balelo announced, ?There’s not a question in his mind that he’s going to come back and he’s going to continue to do both?.

The real career deciding question was that of the UCL treatment. He went on to say that he would go through, ?some type of procedure? from the list of standard options including the TJ surgery, which would keep him off the mounds in the season of 2024. Out of the many points Balelo made, two of them satiated the fans.
Ohtani will definitely be ready to hit at the start of next season, irrespective of his tenure in the 2023 season. And that he will continue being a two-way player in the long term. Sounding optimistic, he said, ?Shohei’s going to be fine.. DHing when the bell rings. We know that. We’re not going to push that. He’s going to be good to go?.
Ohtani’s earlier elbow injury during his rookie campaign in 2018, he continued to hit for the rest of the season. He continued being the Angels’ DH for the whole of ’19 while recovering. But his injuries certainly shook his lineup in the game a few hours after Nez’s first public comments.
Ohtani Experienced Another Mishap Ahead of Angles vs. Orioles on Monday
Last night’s game of Los Angeles Angels vs Baltimore Orioles, was Ohtani-less. Approximately an hour before his first pitch, Ohtani was scratched off the Angels’ lineup. This counts as his third missed game. Post 6-3 loss against Orioles, Angels’ manager, Phil Nevil referring to Sho-time said, “We’re going to run some tests in the morning and see where he’s at.. I don’t want to speculate anything right now.. Pretty sore today, though.?
