"Shohei Ohtani in a Porsche ad—Is he the coolest athlete in MLB right now?"

If there’s one thing that Shohei Ohtani does well other than sports it’s brand endorsements. The Los Angeles Dodgers star has a huge $60 million empire with some of the biggest brands under his portfolio. His impact was evident recently when New Balance launched its first set of apparel and shoes. However, Ohtani’s craze extends beyond sportswear to automobiles. That was apparent from his latest ad for Porsche.

As one knows Ohtani is the face of Porsche in Japan. With nearly every brand wanting to be associated with the superstar, it’s no surprise that Porsche too has decided to utilize his talents. The esteemed automobile company recently launched its new electric Taycan in Japan. As a result, they decided to make its launching a big event by including Shohei Ohtani in their latest ad.

Dressed in a brown leather jacket and black cleats, the two-way phenom’s looks complimented the stylish new car. “Not satisfied with evolution, Higher, faster and further. New model Taycan,” said the post’s caption. Ohtani’s association with Porsche has been a part of his story for a long time. However, this ad showed just how highly the company thinks of its ambassador.

Similarly, its base rear-wheel drive model will reach that speed in 4.3 seconds. With a fully charged range of 250 to 325 miles, the Porsche Taycan could be a force to reckon with after its launch.

Have an interesting take?

Two days ago, Dodgers’ batboy Javier Herrera went viral after he saved Ohtani’s life with an amazing catch. While Herrera maintained a cool temperament, Shohei Ohtani was a bit taken aback. The two-way phenom then posted an Instagram story where he called Herrera “My Hero.” That immediately led to fans wondering whether he’d gift the batboy a Porsche too.

After all, Ohtani has a record of gifting Porsche cars to people he adores. When he first arrived at the Los Angeles Dodgers, the two-way phenom gifted a brand-new Porsche to Joe Kelly’s wife – Ashley Kelly. The superstar did this to appreciate and thank Ashley for her huge campaign to bring Ohtani to the Blue Crew. However, this isn’t the only gift that Ohtani gave.

Right after the two-way phenom broke Dave Roberts’ home run record, he gifted Doc a Porsche too. However, unlike Ashley what Dave Roberts got was a toy car. But though it was a toy, it showed an immense sense of humor possessed by the 2x MVP. And now Herrera saving his life, could the batboy find a similar gift too?
