The 2023 Free Agency will certainly be memorable for MLB fans. Controversies and opinion differences gradually make their way as time approaches. Surprisingly, the Two-Way Phenom is at the center of most. Now, Stephen A. Smith is added to the list. Jomboy Media recently shared a video on Twitter where the media person shared his opinions about Sho-time’s half-a-billion offer. His “Damnit, the Angels don’t win!” almost immediately summed up the entire argument.

However, he further justified his points by referring to the current performance stat of the two strongest teams of this season, mentioning, “When you look at the Dodgers, when you look at the Braves, when you look at various other teams, they ain’t got nobody on there making half a billion dollars.” A.Smith further continued his argument, saying, “If I’m winning without paying somebody a half a billion dollars, why would I go and pay him a half a billion dollars. Especially since you can’t pitch until 2025.”
Ohtani’s fans want him to join a promising team in Free Agency since the Dodgers and Braves are already in the Postseason. However, Stephen A. Smith has put a question mark on that possibility as he questions the star pitcher’s pitching career.
He not only pointed out the failures of the Angels but also highlighted the recovery time Ohtani requires to return as a two-way player. However, the renowned media person ignored the achievements of the Two-Way Phemon, even with the injury.
Shohei Ohtani Can’t Pitch Again?
The Japanese idol’s pitching career is not over. It’s just got a temporary stop. Since he underwent the TJ surgery, doctors confirmed he can return to MLB as a Hitter in 2024. But his Pitching career requires more time. He can’t pitch until 2025. His doctor assured fans, “Shohei is resting and in good spirits and excited to be on the road to recovery.”
