LA Angels’ two-way phenom Shohei Ohtani was at his best against the Miami Marlins. Known for his two-way playing style, Ohtani dominated the game from the mound and also contributed from the plate.

With this stunning performance, the reigning AL MVP helped the Angels end their losing streak in the current MLB season. On Wednesday, Ohtani celebrated his 28th birthday, and the Angels star could not get a better gift for himself than having a perfect game for his team.

The Angels won the second game of the two-game series and split the series against the Miami Marlins. They beat the Marlins by 5-2. Before winning this game, the Angels had lost four games in a row, including a three-game series sweep against their division rival, the Houston Astros.

Shohei Ohtani makes history for the LA Angels

Nowadays, every game Shohei Ohtani plays, he ends up making a couple of records in his name. The 28-year-old had another historic outing in the ballpark. Notably, he was the starting pitcher for the Angels.

With the bat, Ohtani hit two RBIs and stole a base for the Angels, while he dominated the game from the mound. The Angels star conceded a first-inning run against the Marlins and saw his scoreless streak end after 21 2/3 innings. However, Ohtani collected ten strikeouts in the game. Per MLB.com, he became the first-ever MLB player to have 10 strikeouts, two RBIs, and a stolen base.

The Angels star reacted after having a fantastic game against the Marlins. Ohtani said even though he allowed one run in the beginning, he only got better in the rest of the game.

“I allowed 1 run in the beginning, but somehow I hanged in there and got better. I am happy to hit RBI single in the important moment. We will switch mindset, try to overcome, and want to keep winning,” Ohtani said.
