If there’s one word that describes Shohei Ohtani the most – it’s “Intentional”. Everything that Shotime does has a meaning behind it, everything has a purpose. There are no wasted efforts, everything goes according to the plan. This isn’t a recent habit, Ohtani has been like this since his school days. Always destined for greatness, Ohtani had a list and now he’s checked off another one of his life goals.

The knack of surprising fans has always existed inside the superstar.  From Decoy’s visa to surprise appearances, Ohtani loves to keep his fans on their toes. However for him to just announce that he’s married without any prior warning? That’s just another level. But as it stands it was always Ohtani’s plan but he is three years late in his personally predicted timeline.

When the superstar was in high school, he had famously made a list of what he’d like to achieve and when. While that list showed the high professional ambitions of Ohtani, it also gave a glimpse of what he aims to do in his personal life. Now within a year, Shotime has achieved two of his most important dreams – Marriage and WBC.

The list shared Ohtani’s goals from age 18 to 42. He wanted to get married at age 26  but that couldn’t happen. While it was a little disappointing, everything aligned again three years later for the superstar. He won the WBC in 2023, then became the AL MVP for the 2nd time. So is it a surprise that Ohtani added on a personal achievement to such professional glory?

Interestingly, another goal has been delayed by three years – could this be the year that Ohtani achieves it?

So as it stands, the superstar is slowly turning his list into a reality. But even the “intentional” and “methodical” Shohei Ohtani failed to predict two things – that he’d sign sports’ biggest contract at $700 million. And second? That millions would love him in such a ridiculous and wholesome way.
