“She Was Going to Beat Somebody’s A*S”- Irate Mariah Carey Seemingly Threatened Alex Rodriguez’s Ex Jennifer Lopez Long Before Dating Derek Jeter

While their beef is still the talk of MLB town, not many people know about the tension that existed between their popular significant others, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez.

Similar to the two shortstops, who grew up in a competitive, ego-filled, and power-dynamic dictated world, their two significant others maintained their own beef, that exists even today. As reported by an OK! piece from 2021, Carey and Lopez’s beef goes back long years and even before JLo became the pop sensation that she is today.

Mariah Carey once wanted to beat up pop sensation

In the OK Magazine report, Actress Margaret Cho spoke about Mariah Carey wanting to beat JLo up at a party in the 90s. While referring to that incident, she said, “She was going to beat somebody’s a*s. She said ‘I’m gonna beat that bi**hes a*s.”

However, the report by OK! reads that this beef was only one-sided, and JLo stands least bothered by Carey. A source also added that JLo didn’t have time to read Carey’s book. And she was surprised that Carey had the time to write a book, given her busy schedule.

The source said, “Jen is aware of the book and has been told that although she isn’t name-checked by Mariah, there is stuff in it about her. But Jen won’t be reading it herself.”

The Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez feud exist amongst the greatest friend-turned-foe-turned-friend-turned (an endless loop) relationships in the history of MLB. Captain Clutch and A-Rod made their name through their specialty in defense and offense, respectively.
