The day was May 15, 1991, and players were all lined up to greet the Queen at the Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. And Athletics pitcher, Dave Stewart, wanted to greet her highness in a way that she would remember for a long time.

Britain’s longest reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 at her Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The late queen has left a deep impact all over the world. It also includes the time when her highness and Prince Philip came to the USA for a two-week tour. There, she went to see the first baseball match between the Baltimore Orioles, and Oakland Athletics, with the then-President, George H.W. Bush, and first lady, Barbara Bush.
