For the first time since 2009, the New York Yankees have lost a series to the Los Angeles Angels. The team’s struggles have been more than apparent in recent weeks and show no signs of improvement. The Yankees have fallen apart since Aaron Judge went on the IL. But a fan thinks Seinfeld may hold the answer to their troubles.

The classic sitcom has long regaled fans, even those born after the 1990s, with its hilarious characters and their exploits. Besides the titular Jerry Seinfeld, his almost useless sidekick George Costanza has long spoken to the lazy person inside us. Famously, Jason Alexander’s character once worked in the Yankees organization. Interestingly, fans want him and his bizarre ways to save the current team.

The Bronx Bombers have long been part of the lore of America. After all, given their vast and storied history, who wouldn’t want to feature the iconic pinstripes in pop culture?

After being unemployed for a year, George Costanza becomes an assistant to the traveling secretary of the New York Yankees. And in the famous episode 9 from season 8, Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams grace the screen.

TodayInSports recently posted a picture from Costanza’s interaction with the legendary ballplayers, where he gives them tips on how to hit. “Guys, hitting is not about muscle. It’s simple physics. Calculate the velocity, v, in relation to the trajectory, t, in which g, gravity, of course, remains a constant. (Hits a home run) It’s not complicated.”

When Jeter asks who he is, Costanza introduces himself and mocks that it took six games for the team to win the World Series that year (1996). Although Costanza is generally terrible at what he does throughout the show, he may inspire some change.

Given the tweet’s thousands of views, baseball fans think even he could do a better job than the current front office. The severely lacking offense could take some tips from Seinfeld because the criticism against the team is never-ending.

Yankee Fans Doubt Playoff Contention in 2023

With an ailing roster and underperforming players, the team needs to look more serious about winning. At the last game, some fans were heckling Carlos Rodon, who recently returned from a long stint on the IL. In the offseason, he was a promising prospect, but his on-field performance has been disappointing. Then yesterday, in response to the stadium’s shouts, he blew them a kiss.
