With every passing day, the anticipation toward Opening Day 2023 is exponentially swelling. And after a long winter, it’s finally going to start to feel like baseball season in little to no time. Amidst this and through winter, the San Diego Padres have carefully and strategically constructed an unbelievably potent offense, and two of their offensive stars have already arrived at Petco ahead of spring training.
However, from the two offensive superstars, stained Fernando Tatis Jr. is coming back to San Diego after completing 3/4th of his suspension, with the final quarter still pending. Infielder Manny Machado, who holds the Friars together and toward success, reached his Instagram with an upload announcing Tatis Jr. and his arrival to “the 619.”

“Back in the 619…. Who’s coming?!” captioned Manny Machado while posing for the picture while standing next to the young 24-year-old, already two-time All-Star who’s returning to the Padres setup after completing a significant portion of his suspension. Notably, “619” is the area code of San Diego.
Fernando Tatis Jr., who’s going to start in the outfield in 2023, reacted to Machado’s upload with three [flame emojis].

How does the Padres lineup look before Opening Day?
Amongst the Padres’ biggest acquisitions in the 2023 offseason has been Xander Bogaerts at shortstop, and assumably Matt Carpenter or Nelson Cruz for a purely hitting role. Along with the likes of Juan Soto and Machado and the rising stars of Ha-Seon Kim, Cronenworth, and Nola, once Fernando Tatis Jr. joins the team after completing the remainder of his suspension, the Padres will look unstoppable.
