Having made his MLB debut in 2011, LA Angels’ star Mike Trout has been playing the game for over a decade. Throughout, Trout has earned himself numerous accolades. Most recently, Trout sat down with his WBC teammate Mookie Betts during an episode of his podcast, On Base with Mookie Betts. The LA Dodgers’ outfielder reminisced about a moment with Trout from the International Baseball Tournament that had fans sympathizing with the Angels’ star.

While Prince Fish Mike Trout got to taste the flavor of playoffs in the World Baseball Classic, he is yet to taste its flavor in Major League Baseball. When asked about how playoffs feel like, Betts’ response was filled with admiration for Trout.

Currently playing his thirteenth MLB season, Trout has shown that he is one of a kind baseball player. He did so by becoming an All-Star in ten, winning the Silver Slugger award in nine of the twelve seasons he has played in the big league. On top of all this, he has remained consistent with his play, making pitchers feel intimidated by his iconic hitting skills. Despite this, he is yet to win in MLB’s playoffs.

Another example of Trout’s iconic skills is taking Team USA to the finals in World Baseball Classic 2023. Reaching WBC’s playoffs was a first for Trout, which also made him overwhelmed. Hence, before a game, Trout gave up on his curiosity and asked Mookie, “Is this what playoffs feels like?”

The host of the WBC Central podcast, Shawn Spradling, posted a clip of Mookie’s podcast which has the Dodgers star recalling that moment. Talking about the same, Betts said, “Wow! Mike Trout, who is a 10-time All-Star, nine-time silver slugger, three-time MVP, all these things, hasn’t really experienced playoffs. It’s not a shot at you, it’s just people play this game for like 15-20 years and they never make playoffs, and then you get certain guys who bounce around teams for six years in a row. They’re in playoffs every year. So to me, that was beyond playoffs.” However, soon as this clip went up on Twitter, baseball fans started to sympathize with Trout over his inability to reach the playoffs.

Trout’s fans are devastated!

Baseball fans are feeling bad for Trout despite giving his best on the plate. It’s been over a decade since he’s been trying to win. But so far, he hasn’t been successful.

Have a look at how fans are reacting to Trout’s question to Mookie Betts:

Even Angels’ manager can’t help but feel bad for Trout!
