Fortunately, he was coherent and managed to walk back to the dugout with the help of trainers. With his face swelling immediately, fans feared the worst. But the team recently gave an update on the situation that indicates that things will be okay.

The game against the Oakland Athletics was going well for the Royals, but then the sixth inning rolled around. They still won, but it came at the cost of their pitcher. Ryan Noda, the A’s first baseman who hit the 106.2 mph ball that hit Yarbrough, was among the concerned party. He even asked for Yarbrough’s number to personally ask after his well-being. Thankfully, the Royals recently gave an update regarding the situation.

When Yarbrough was walking off the field, everyone in the stands clapped for him, regardless of whether they were A’s or Royals fans. A similar thing happened on Twitter when his team released its latest statement.
