The Atlanta Braves’ ace Ronald Acuna Jr had a devastating season finale losing to the Philadelphia Phillies in the NDLS semifinals. Despite having a banging 2023 season initially, the Braves ended the season with the greatest record in baseball. However, Atlanta couldn’t overcome the razor-sharp Bryce Harper squad. This was synchronous with the time when the Braves were just getting heated up.

The 2018 debutant and National League Rookie of the Year made sure to thank Braves Country in a social media post. Though it was not a secret that he was intrinsically disappointed. Owing to the fact that the Braves had enjoyed a stellar regular season, it was painful to see them bleed during the finale. The fact that the series versus Philadelphia practically mirrored the NLDS defeat to the Phillies in 2022 year made things possibly worse.

Ronald Acuna Jr. took to Instagram to share an earnest message. His caption oozed with gratitude and genuine love for the sport. His words were, “THANK YOU. THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR THE SUPPORT. THANK YOU TO MY COACHES AND TEAMMATES. THANK YOU BRAVES COUNTRY THE BEST FANS IN THE WORLD. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THE SAME ENERGY. EVERY DAY. NO MATTER WHAT. THIS YEAR, I WILL NEVER FORGET. NEXT YEAR, IT WILL END DIFFERENT. NOS VEMOS PRONTO … 🦍🦍🦍🦍”. His concluding Spanish words translate to ‘See you soon’. As someone so passionate, it is tough to contain emotions, and this post reflects that unfathomable feeling.

With that said, it is impossible to ignore this year’s Braves-Phillies run to last year. Despite having the advantage of playing at home during both series, Atlanta fell to the underdog Phillies in Game 1. Soon they bounced back in Game 2. But then, they subsequently dropped both Games 3 and 4 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Their 2023 saga was not different from that of 2022. Either way, the 25-year-old Braves’ Venezuelan reached great milestones.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t diminish the brilliance Ronald Acuña showed during the 2023 season. He broke several MLB records and wrote his name in MLB chronicles as he became the charter member of the elite 40/70 club. With that, he might just stand a heightened possibility that he will win the NL MVP Award when it’s disclosed soon.

From Terrific To Terrified, Atlanta Braves and Ronald Acuna Jr Witnessed Bryce Harper’s Might

For the Atlanta Braves, 2023 was a terrific season. The club especially had an electrifying run from March to September, hitting 307 home runs during that time. Through nearly every game he played, Ronald Acuna Jr established his position as the National League MVP, making his roster nearly impeccable. However, in October, the same potent rotation faltered. Soon after that, mighty Harper’s team chewed them.

Bryce Harper has been stealing the show of late with his rather impressive shenanigans. Be it hitting a homer on his birthday or glaring back at Orlando Arcia after the atta-boy-Harper incident, he is playing the game his way and bagging wins after wins.
