Though the New York Yankees have had a tumultuous season, Aaron Judge’s return from the injured list has shown a slight chance for reconciliation. With some scattered wins and streaks, the Yankees are trying their best to pull themselves on the right track. But what if other factors are hindering the Yankees’ growth plan?

The Yankees captain is famous for never exploding on umpires and maintaining a respectful demeanor. However, in today’s game, something caught him off guard and off character, as he did not get the umpire’s cooperation in this particular instance.

In today’s Yankees vs Houston Astros game, fans called out an unfair judgment. As per a tweet by Talkin’ Yanks, what happened on the diamond raised eyebrows, ‘BLUE???‘ As Astros’ pitcher Javier took his pitching position and swung the ball, it was immediately caught by the fielder. The umpire declared it a strike, sending Aaron Judge back to the dugout. Quite taken aback, as Judge walked off, the commentary followed, “The ball’s outside, clearly outside. He’s going to take a look at it later on”.

What seemed like an evident ‘ball’, was misjudged as a ‘strike’. The Yankees fans, infamous for being as brutal as they are passionate, did not leave a minute’s gap to express their emotions on social media. Ranging from demanding ‘robot umps’ to naming the decision an ‘awful call’, the fans said it all!

MLB is not foreign to umpiring problems and the furious fans escalate the wrong disrespectful call for Judge’s strike.

Yankees’ Fans Got No Chill

The Yankees faithful are unmatched. They do not leave an opportunity to pounce on and highlight mistakes that need immediate action whether it is a player or an umpire. They demand a solution to this problem that can put an end to wrong calls. What the fans said, did not come as a surprise.

Sounding enraged, one fan said, “embarrassed” addressing Javier’s look after the umpire’s call.

In another comment, one fan foresaw ‘robot umps’ stepping in.

Some took a dig at Dominguez, attributing his home runs to errant umpiring.

The emphasis on robots replacing umpires for decision making did not end there. One fan mentioned “this was horrible”.

Fans’ reactions are understandable. One went on to show his frustration, “Calls don’t get worse than that”.
