“Thanks For the Memories!”: Ex-Houston Astros Star Calls Time on His MLB Career Aged 38, Fans Pay Their Respects

It is a universal truth that there will be a day every sportsperson has to say goodbye to their playing days. Thus, everyone wants to give their best during their playing days and leave a legacy behind. The latest addition to it is Robinson Chirinos, who bids farewell to the field as a player. Many players get respect from every fan after their retirement beyond the team rivalries. Apart from their records and wins, it’s their contribution to the sport which is always remembered by the fans.

Robinson Chirinos shares a heartfelt message upon his retirement!

The 39-year-old had an extensive career spanning over a decade. Chirinos made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays in the year 2011. Then the catcher moved to the Texas Rangers, whom he represented for seven seasons. His last game was during the 2022 season, which came for the Baltimore Orioles. Chirinos announced his retirement with a message thanking his family, coaches, and fans for all the love they showed to him.

In one of the press notes, the player wrote, “Dear Family, Fans, and Friends, With a happy, yet heavy heart, I am announcing my retirement from professional baseball. After much contemplation and reflection, I have decided to close this chapter of my life.”?

Chirinos reflected on the teachings from his playing career,?”I have learned that baseball is a metaphor for life. It has taught me lessons about teamwork, perseverance, resilience, humility, and gratitude that I will carry with me forever.”

Chirinos shared his respect for his coaches, support staff, and teammates for their support in making him a successful person on and off the field. He thanked the fans, “Thank you for your unwavering loyalty and dedication to this great sport. You have been the lifeblood of my career, and I am humbled by the outpouring of support and the encouragement that you have shown me over the years.”

Fans wish the best to Chirinos upon his retirement.

Many said that they loved him even though he played in the rival team. While many Astros and Orioles fans thanked him for the brilliant work, he did for their team.
