Roberto Clemente was truly one of the greatest baseball talents to ever step out in the ballparks. He was equally well known for his talent in baseball and his charitable nature. Having played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Clemente was someone who always gave back to the community. And that was what ultimately led to his unfortunate death. Although the MLB legend is no more in this world, the Pirates honored him recently.

It was on 31st December 1972 when Clemente boarded a plane to help deliver aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. The plane, unfortunately, experienced engine failure and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean shortly after takeoff. This resulted in the death of Clemente and a handful of others on board the flight.
