Harper recently went through an emergency where a fan reportedly stole his car. Although that seems untrue, the precise cause for his distress and a police presence during the Phillies’ recent game remains unknown. This most recent news about his shift is another alarm bell ringing. 

Bryce Harper is relocating to a destination just a short flight away from Philadelphia.

Throughout his career, Bryce Harper has spent every off-season in Las Vegas, his home city. But now the Phillies star is planning a significant shift of his off-season home. This comes days after an emergency occurred during his latest game. USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported the news in an article. Although Phillies fans may be worried about the move, it does not appear to be because he wants to leave the team. 

According to USA Today’s Nightengale, “Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper, born and raised in Las Vegas, is moving his family to Knoxville, Tennessee, this winter. It’s less than a two-hour flight to Philadelphia. Harper becomes the latest MLB player to move to Tennessee, with Nashville becoming an absolute hotbed.” This is a massive move for the star designated hitter who will return to a position-player role later this year.

Besides the short flight to Philadelphia, the lack of an individual state income tax is a powerful motivator. But Harper’s true motives behind the move remain unknown. The Phillies’ $330 million star is yet to make a statement regarding the action.
