It has been a tough season for the Oakland Athletics fans. Apart from the team’s poor performance, another disappointing news has put fans in a rage. They are about to lose their beloved team because of the stadium change plan of the team, all thanks to the owner John Fisher. Fans have protested against it with a reverse boycott which got support from all corners of the baseball world.

Given that it was a center of news, everyone expected a response from the MLB, whom fans have accused of ignoring their cause. It seems it has reached where fans wanted it to be. Though nothing official has come out, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, in his interaction with the media, had his words on the entire incident. What exactly did he say? Let us find out!

Rob Manfred echoes reverse boycotts with an average MLB crowd!

MLB has not shared anything on the whole situation surrounding Oakland Athletics. But recently MLB commissioner interacted with the media, where he was asked about “the reverse boycott” staged by the A’s fans. Talkin’ Baseball shared the clip of Manfred answering the question with a caption, “Here?s video of Rob Manfred?s quotes from earlier today about the A?s reverse boycott.”

A reporter asked Manfred, “Did you watch the game on Tuesday when the fans came out with a reverse boycott?” Manfred replied, “I was actually at a dinner with the owners.” They then asked him if he saw the coverage or not.

To which Manfred said that he did. He then added,” I saw a mission of that. You know, I mean, it was great. It’s great to see what is this year, almost an average major league baseball crowd in the facility for one night. That’s a great thing.”

Already under fire for ignoring the cause of Athletics fans, this statement has further put fans in disbelief. Reacting to the comments made by Manfred, they have added their opinions to the entire case!

The baseball community has supported the Oakland fans’ bid to save their team. They also expected MLB to take some steps for their cause. But the latest comments from the MLB commissioner have put fans in more disbelief. Noting it, they have called it worse than the quote. Many also shared that they feel bad for the A’s fans.
