Derek Jeter is a name that is synonymous with the game of baseball. Jeter showed an unmatched dedication to the game, working hard to take his game to a higher level every day. His undying will to compete while playing for the New York Yankees made him an icon. Taking to Twitter, ace broadcaster Michael Kay recently shared a picture with Derek Jeter that hadn’t been seen before. Per Kay, the picture is from the 1996 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

Kay said this in his tweet “Thanksgiving throwback. Hanging with the not-yet Captain at the Macy’s Parade in 1996.” Although there are a lot of pictures of Jeter on the internet, a moment like this has rarely been captured.

The 1996 Thanksgiving parade followed Jeter’s Rookie of the Year season and his first World Series Championship with the Yankees. Fans have reacted to the image with general excitement about it and are rather excited to see a young Derek Jeter.

The picture is a candid moment from Jeter’s early playing days and is a rather big moment in history. Later in his career, Jeter would refrain from going out because of his popularity and fame.

This picture may be the only one of Jeter at a Macy’s Thanksgiving parade and if not, it’s likely the only one available on social media. Furthermore, Derek Jeter was always training and spent a lot of time working on his craft.
What is Jeter doing now?
Jeter is currently away from the game of baseball and is enjoying spending time with his kids. He is a father to three daughters with his wife Hannah Jeter and occasionally posts pictures and videos of them. The former Yankee is normally very private about his family life and keeps it separate from his work.
