There are very few sports franchises across the globe that can match the Yankees’ financial strength. The Yankees have housed some of the greatest players in baseball history. A handful of those players have earned legendary status. Most of all, almost any player associated with the Yankees at some point gets to reap the benefits of his alliance.?
One such beneficiary now happens to be the first baseman, Anthony Rizzo. The Yankees acquired Rizzo in 2021. But he has opted out of the final year of his contract. Therefore, the Yankees have given him a qualifying offer, making the fans go furious.?
What did the fans have to say to the New York Yankees’ offer??
Anthony Rizzo had his first full season with the Yankees this year. He smashed 32 home runs and gathered 75 RBIs in the regular season. Moving ahead, he also had a decent postseason smashing two more home runs and collecting eight RBIs. But Rizzo has dropped out of his final year, which would have paid him $16 million in 2023.?
Therefore, the Yankees are about to give a one-year $19.65 million qualifying offer to Rizzo.??
Renowned MLB reporter Jon Heyman posted the news on his Twitter account quoting, “Yankees are expected to give Anthony Rizzo the $19.65M qualifying offer. Of course. Terrific two-way player.”?

While another upset fan wrote, “.225 BA/ 75 RBI?s. Terrific two-way player. Yah ok!? If I?m the Yankees I?m jumping for joy if he opts out of his agreement. He was great with the cubs but $20mm for a very good defensive 1B who can?t hit .230, doesn?t drive in a lot of runs and turns 34 this season? Hard pass.”?
