Apart from being an excellent ballplayer and even a great leader in the game, Derek Jeter was also a very down-to-earth and humble guy in baseball. He is still a humble guy, though. It is not that he did not want to party or have fun with his friends, like every other baseball player.

He also loved to do such things, but Jeter never hyped it or created any buzz about his personal life. What is more surprising about his personality is that despite dating lots of famous women, Jeter never directed his character. And when talking about Jeter’s personal life, the former Yankees’ shortstop dated quite a few celebrities before getting married.

Not many people know, but when Jeter was still a bachelor; he hosted a party at his home and made a bizarre request to his people coming over.

Derek Jeter once set a bizarre rule for the guests coming over to his home

Per NY Mag, during the early days of his baseball career, Derek Jeter hosted a party for his friends and politely requested them to not use any cameras or cell phones for privacy concerns. Because he did not want to make it a big thing like the media almost always does.

“He politely asked his guests to remove any cell phones or cameras they were carrying and place them on a table, explaining that he wanted to protect his privacy,” said the NY Mag report.

Jeter was so secretive that he was not even active on any social media platform until this year. Unlike almost every athlete, the former Yankees captain never portrayed himself as a media favorite. And to date, his approach is still the same. He has always avoided being in the limelight.
