For a player who stayed healthy his entire career, appearing in all 162 games and batting a solid .275, it’s shocking how his life has suddenly stalled. On Thursday, in the middle of the game with the Twins, Juan Soto’s injury came into play. All the fans’ cheer faded when he left the field, mainly due to discomfort in the left arm.
However, good news arrived after all the fans’ prayers and team expectations that Soto would come out strong. Soto went in for an MRI on Friday, and things are now looking positive. As per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Soto is dealing with nothing more than an inflammation. Of course, every Juan Soto fan is eager to get more insights regarding the star player’s injury. Well, Soto has come up with quite a couple of statements.
In conversation with a few reporters after the Yankees 2-1 loss to Dodgers, Soto spoke about his arm injury, stating, “Yeah, it was what I was looking for. Just tried to see what was really going on in my elbow, and we were having a little bit of thinking. What it’s going to be like, how it’s going to come out and thanks God it came out that way.”

Another reporter asked Soto, “Does it give you peace of mind moving forward?”, he replied, “Definitely, I really, it feels a relief, you know. It was a toss. My elbow was kind of like right there. But, now I feel good.” Regarding the time Soto should decide when he can be back on the field, he replied, “We will see for the next couple of days how I gonna feel. We gonna go day by day and see how I’ve been feeling.”
“Did you push to play today?” asked another reporter, amidst the conversation. “Definitely, I mean we all trying to put in one spot. I’m trying to do my best. It’s tough to see the game from the bench. I don’t like that. So, I try my best to be out there and try to help the team,” Soto explained.

Concern grew among fans as Juan Soto’s treatment continued without updates. Soto went on to say, “I’m trying every kind of treatment we can get. Anything that we can have that inflammation down and quick.” Soto even claimed that the injury hadn’t impacted his ability to bat or swing the ball.
Does Juan Soto’s future lie with the Yankees?
Since Juan Soto joined the Yankees, he has been flying confidently. In his first season with the Yankees, he hit .322 with 17 homers, four stolen bases, and an impressive 53 RBI—stats only great players achieve. Of course, Soto in the middle order boosts the Yankees’ confidence.

As Soto is dealing with forearm inflammation, he might be seen on the field within a few days. However, after the current season, Soto will be a free agent–a thing that is really haunting Yankees fans. Making things worse, Soto’s agent, Scott Boras, has defined the star player’s value at $500 million. With the luxury tax penalties and a limit of around $313 million, Soto’s future with the team is not looking promising, at the moment.
For the Yankees to keep Juan Soto in their ranks, they will have to do something different. Either increase the cap limit or go hard for Soto at the auction. Even if it means cutting down on other costs, Soto is the kind of player the team management might go to any extent to bring back to play for the Yankees.
