Rafael Devers owns the Yankees—agree or disagree?

Just a few nights right before his All-Star selection, Rafael stamped his authority in Sunday’s game. Even without Gerrit Cole for pitching, Devers never looked uncomfortable. On Sunday night, when the resurgent Bronx looked for a turnaround, Devers homers crushed their dreams. He smashed his second home run in the seventh innings against back-to-form Luis Gil.

Indeed, Gil, who was looking fierce against other Boston batters, Devers made sure he didn’t escape his wrath. Then came another homer from Rafael Devers’ bat, ensuring that Boston crossed the line of victory. Eventually, the Red Sox defeated the Yankees 3-0 on their home ground. Though the match was a great one for Boston, their star player had some exciting things to say about the game.

Without a doubt, scoring against Yankees Luis Gil when all his players faltered against him is a statement of his sheer form. Speaking about the game post-match, Rafael Devers said, “We know what type of ballpark this is. This is one of the best in the league. Everything feels better than any other ballpark.” Indeed, it seems he loves the Yankees stadium more than any other venue. The reason? At the venue, he has hit 16 homers and a staggering 28 against the New York Yankees. Regarding the stats, he is hitting at .463 with seven homers and ten RBIs in his last 10 games at the Yankees stadium.

In the game against the Yankees, Devers gave the Red Sox an early lead. He took on the fastball from Luis Gil and dispatched it to the opposite field, beating the left-field players. Rest with his two homers, especially the 423-foot in the ninth innings, sealed the game for the Red Sox. Additionally, it was his 20th homer of the year and 11th against the Bronx. This is the most Red Sox’s history by any other player.

Currently, he is just 27 years old, and in his ninth innings, Rafael Devers got his 21st long ball of the 2024 season and the 16th player visiting the Bronx stadium.  Before him, Ken Griffey Jr., Manny Machado, and Evan Longoria were the players who recorded three homers against the Yankees in the last 50 years. Additionally, as the team is riding high on Rafael Dever’s back, a few more stars are waiting for the elusive All-Stars selection.
