Born in a small town, consisting of only 20,000 people in Loma de Cabrera in the Dominican Republic, the 22-year-old has come a long way. After a terrific rookie season with the Mariners, J-Rod also got selected to represent his country in the upcoming World Baseball Classic set to start on March 7.

Mariners’ outfielder Julio Rodriguez is bursting with excitement
The chance to represent the country is an honor that isn’t given to everyone. However, J-Rod certainly understands this, making it even tough for him to keep calm. Recently at a conference, the young Dominican player gave a glimpse of his excitement about playing in the fifth World Baseball Classic by saying a few words about it.

“I feel like everybody is really excited to play in the World Baseball Classic. I feel like everybody is so excited to go out there and compete,” said the slugger.

As the outfielder made his debut in the big league, he was only 21 at the time, making him the youngest qualified batter in Major League Baseball. Notably, the slugger is off to a good start as he not only won Rookie of the Year but also made it to his first all-star team and won his first of the many Silver Slugger award.

One of the baseball fans called the WBC the Olympics of baseball. At the same time, he straightforwardly called any person who wouldn’t like it crazy. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
