In 2011, a rumor about Derek Jeter sending post-s*x breakup gift baskets to his hookups came to light. Charlie, from HIMYF, tried to use the same method, but ended up finding out the truth behind Jeter’s “high-budget” basket, and even what it contained.

In a conversation between Sid and Charlie at the bar, Sid asks Charlie, “Did you send your hookup a post-sex breakup gift basket?” Quick to respond, Charlie credited bad boy Derek Jeter for this, and said, “Of course. It’s what Derek Jeter did in his prime. And who knows how to do classy casual sex in New York City better than the noted American sex Yankee Derek Jeter?”

In his docuseries, Jeter revealed that the rumor was untrue, just like what Sid said, “That is an old rumor. Jeter himself said it’s not true.” To this, Charlie said, “Jeter, you discreet devil. He will take his basketing secrets to the grave.”

However, Charlie’s hookup, Courtney, misinterpreted the gift box as an “I like you” gift and reached the bar to meet him. To her bad luck, she walked in on Charlie, getting multiple such baskets delivered at the bar. As a result, she expressed her disappointment and called Charlie an “as*h*le.”

Before storming out, Courtney said, “You can keep your low-rent, post-sex basket. Next time just ghost. Like a normal asshole,” before revealing that she slept with the Yankees captain: “I slept with Jeter. Real truffles and a Birkin bag.”
