The idea of expansion teams has been floating around the MLB. In relation to this, there are also teams that may be on the move and are planning to go to new homes. The Athletics? move to Las Vegas has seen a massive update with regard to funding its $1.5 billion stadium. This is because the deadlock over public funding seems to have been resolved through negotiations. Conversations had hit a roadblock with the Athletics wanting $395 million and Nevada lawmakers offering $195 million. But Fox Sports: MLB has reported via Twitter that an agreement has been reached on the amount of public funding.

In a Tweet, they said, ?An agreement has been reached on how much the public will assist in funding the new $1.5 billion stadium.” According to a Fox Sports article, the amount of public funding has not been revealed, but it will limit risk to Nevada taxpayers. Furthermore, the public money will account for less than 25% of the total stadium cost.?

It's time for expansion. Put teams in Nashville and Salt Lake City and then move the Rays to Charlotte/Raleigh if they can't get new a stadium deal in Florida. Orlando could work for relocation…but it's a bad idea for an expansion franchise.
