Rare Clip of a 20-Year-Old Aaron Judge Shows the Mentality That the New York Yankees Are Profiting From a Decade Later

Aaron Judge is presently changing the face of baseball history. He is reigning over all statistical categories in batting this season. His individual success, in turn, has helped his team to dominate the zonal rankings. Judge’s team has benefited due to the team spirit he has had since a very young age. 

Aaron Judge is an outfielder and tearaway slugger for the New York Yankees. He gained prominence due to his muscular prowess and reputation as a prolific home run scorer. Making his MLB debut in 2016, he has already amassed 200+ career total home runs. Notably, Judge is a four-time All-Star player. 

Stephen Hicks is the sports director of the ABC 30 network. Hicks recently shared a brief clip of Judge from his college days. The rare footage contains a short interview with Judge. At that time, Judge was playing for the Fresno State Bulldogs. 

Aaron Judge: The attitude of a champion 

Aaron Judge has always been an enigmatic athlete since he began playing as a kid. When he was in school, he also played football and basketball alongside baseball. Interestingly, he had a triumphant record in all three sports.  Due to Judge’s imposing physical stature, leading college football teams even tried to recruit him. 

However, Judge decided to opt for his prime interest, baseball. Since then, he had never looked back. In playing for the Yankees, he is representing probably the most glamorous baseball franchise. He has been instrumental in the Yankees’ success so far, particularly in the ongoing MLB season. Inching closer to breaking the American League home run record, Judge has alone powered the Yankees’ offense. 

Stephen Hicks posted a vintage Judge video on Twitter, quoting “Being team first is nothing new for Aaron Judge. After being named WAC Freshman of the Year, BAJ was talking about his teammates heading into the 2012 season.”

Speaking in the interview, Judge said, “There is a little bit of pressure, but just having the team with you now. We’re freshmen and they teach us after we do. I feel like a little weight lifted off my shoulders. And just, it’s kind of like a whole team thing. So, feeling pretty good.” 

The chances ahead for the future legend 

Judge is a baseball legend in the making. He is now creating batting records of his own. The Yankees have already clinched the playoff berths and Judge has the opportunity to build upon it. But more than anything else, he is determined to win the World Series with the Yankees.
