Not only that, but A-Rod also faced lots of criticism for this serious lapse in judgment, as anyone else would. In consonance with that, popular Canadian rapper Drake once impersonated and mocked the slugger on Saturday Night Live in 2014.

Shortly after A-Rod’s one-season-long suspension announcement became official, Canadian Rapper Drake impersonated and mocked the three-time American League MVP winner. After being announced into the segment, Drake, who played A-Rod, abruptly said, “No, you’re the one who’s lying.” That statement took aback Taran Killam, who was playing Piers Morgan. Drake clarified by saying, “Sorry that’s just like a reflex at this point.”

In a satirical continuation of the segment, Drake persisted in the mockery of A-Rod. While talking about the steroid allegations and the judgment behind them, he said, “My attorneys and I are currently suing major league baseball for gross misconduct. We’re also suing the players’ union for failing to trick MLB. I’m also suing steroids for being inside of me. And I’m suing Jackie Robinson for breaking into the Major Leagues that really led to this situation in the first place. “

The pair then moved to talk about A-Rod’s connections with Tony Bosch and the text message interactions that carried between the two.

A-Rod retired from the MLB with a stained reputation. The steroid scandal tainted his phenomenal MLB career forever. However, that didn’t put a stop to A-Rod’s ambitions outside the park.

Following his MLB retirement in 2016, A-Rod started his journey to becoming a renowned business mogul began. His second innings commenced with the relentless time spent on A-Rod Corp, a holding company that the shortstop founded in 1996.

After successfully building a real-estate empire with his name, A-Rod is now Chairperson of Presidente Beer and part owner of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves.
