The Bronx Bombers and the Red Sox are both suffering from the worst season, with so many defeats on their list. However, no matter what happens, their games always attract the attention of their fans and renew the rivalry. While the ongoing 4-game series has the Yankees in the lead, the Red Sox thought to win the second game with their master strategy. So, they planned to use their star player Rafael Devers differently. But probably, they never thought of the consequences.

Rafael Devers is one of the most potent players in The Red Sox. During their previous games with the Yankees, this Slugger has imposed his dominance and announced his worth. He crushed The Pinstripes. So, naturally, the Red Sox thought of using him as their trump card against the Bronx Bombers on Tuesday as well.

Initially, they planned to bench him and send him in the Eighth inning. That’s what they did. However, things backfired when the Yankees Pitcher, Matt Bowman, gave him an Intentional Walk and wisely avoided facing him. Bowman never pitched for the Yankees since 2019, but he turned the entire game on Tuesday with this move. This proved fatal for the Red Sox, and finally, they couldn’t manage the game after that. Another thing that the Bronx Bombers have taken advantage of is the worst situation of their opponent in runners in scoring position.
