Derek Jeter has turned into a serial investor since retiring after a 20-year MLB career. The New York Yankees legend has put his money into a variety of projects. Most recently, he opted to dive into a culinary revolution by investing in a plant-based food company. 

The Yankees legend has promoted healthy eating extensively. Furthermore, he has invested in the industry before. But this latest venture pairs him up with some top culinary icons as he looks to make a difference.

Derek Jeter invests in plant-based company Meati Foods

Plant-based food has become a sustainable and eco-friendly way to eat meat alternatives. It has grown in popularity in recent years, with millions preferring it over meat. In the latest update, Derek Jeter has chosen to invest in plant-based producer Meati Foods. He joins culinary icons Rachael Ray and David Chang in supporting the company. Jeter has invested in Meati Foods and also joined as an advisor. 

According to Veg News, “Meati Foods, the innovative producer of plant-based meat alternatives crafted from mushroom root, announced today that former Major League Baseball (MLB) Hall of Fame member and entrepreneur Derek Jeter has become an investor and advisor for the company.” Furthermore, according to Veg News, Jeter said, “As we shape the future, the choices we make and the impact we leave behind are crucial. I appreciate Meati’s dedication to making a real difference”.

The Yankees legend also likes the sustainable approach that Meati Foods is taking to produce tasty food. Jeter went through a tough “Derek Eater” phase when he was in rehabilitation from injury. But the iconic shortstop has always valued nutrition and healthy food.

Jeter considers breakfast the most important meal

During an interview more than a decade ago, Derek Jeter talked about his favorite meal. At the time, he considered breakfast to be the most important meal of the day. Furthermore, if he didn’t have a good breakfast it would mess with his routine. The Yankees legend even said that you have to take the time to eat a good meal to start the day.
