San Francisco relief pitcher Zack Littell had some embarrassing moments on Monday night. It exceeded the poor on-field performance. In the heat of the moment, he made a huge mistake by quarreling with manager Gabe Kapler. However, it was avoidable, and Littell only has himself to be blamed.

Zack Littell is a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants. He joined the Giants in 2021 and made his MLB debut with the Minnesota Twins in 2018.

Gabe Kapler is the Giants’ manager since 2020. He won the National League Manager of the Year Award in 2021. During his playing career, he played in multiple MLB teams, including one season in Japan’s NPB league. As a player, Kapler won the World Series in 2004 with the Boston Red Sox.?

An emotional outburst of Zack Littell?

On Monday night,?Zack Littell?took the mound for his relief duties. The Giants were playing a home series game against the Atlanta Braves. The home team got set for a convincing victory at Oracle Park. But Littel’s loose pitching almost gave the game away. Four Braves batters reached base facing Littel in the eighth inning.

Giants’ 3-0 lead narrowed down to a mere 3-2.?Gabe Kapler?walked out to call Littel back into the dugout for a replacement. A furious Littel spiked the ball into Kapler’s hands and verbally fired into the manager. Following up, Kapler immediately took Gabe into the clubhouse for a chat.?

Fortunately, the Giants defeated the Braves in what turned into a thriller. Talking about the incident later, an apologetic Littel?said,?“Purely out of frustration on my performance. It came out in a disrespectful way toward him. Not that I pitched well enough that I deserved it at all.”?

To the whole incident, Kapler replied,?“I think Zack wanted to stay in that game. He’s a competitor. I think it was just his wanting me to know that he wanted to finish that inning. There’s obviously a way to do that, and Zack knows that.”?In a disciplinary move, Littel will now be sent to play with the minor league affiliates.?

The road ahead in this season?

The Giants are already out of any title contention. The end of the regular season will wrap up proceedings for the team. As for Littel, he might need to figure out the reason for his reaction and maybe contain his temper in the future.
