Amidst the glitz and glamor of Hollywood, the Los Angeles Angels stand amidst the most unsuccessful teams in recent MLB history. Despite their recent record, they are home to two of the game’s brightest stars: the versatile Shohei Ohtani and the mighty Mike Trout, whose suitors would go above and beyond to bring them to their home. In an ideal circumstance, no one would consider leaving the New York Mets, owned by billionaire Steve Cohen for Anaheim. Especially considering the latest rumors of selling.
However, Radio host Wayne Randazzo felt differently. And to find some solace in his decision to move to the West Coast, Mets fans have placed their faith in the concoction. The hope of this move being a recipe to bring at least one of the two legends from the Angels back to Queens.

After joining the New York Mets radio booth in 2019, Wayne Randazzo found a way to win multiple hearts.. Now, the 38-year-old, play-by-play commentator of the Mets is leaving for the LA Angels. He recently reached his Twitter handle with a heartfelt note thanking the Mets fans, who displayed their sorrow in the comments of the tweet.
In the note, Randazza added a special thank you to the Mets’ front office and fans. And said, “The Mets fans and organization have always been amazing to me and part of me will always bleed orange and blue.” He added, “My 8 seasons with the Mets were some of the best times in my life.”
How did the disappointed Mets fans react to Wayne Randazzo leaving?
The love that Randazzo expressed toward his fans from Queens was equitably reciprocated by the fans, who displayed their love for the host. However, at the same time, they hoped that his move to LA was part of a bigger plan, that involved convincing Shohei Ohtani to come to Queens after he enters free agency following the 2023 season.
Good luck, Wayne. So well deserved!
Btw – your last sentence is gonna make Gelbs smile again. Haha— KeithIrizarry (@keithirizarry) January 4, 2023
Congrats, Wayne! Well deserved and look forward to catching some late night baseball on the east coast with a familiar face at the mic. Best of luck.

You'll be missed, Wayne! The Angels are lucky to have you.

I’m still hoping this is all a ploy. Wayne is going there to convince Ohtani to come..and they both take a midnight flight back to Queens. Fingers crossed 🤞

Hahah, the bromance will never die! Just don't take Gelbsie with you! Best of luck and sorry about Ohtani signing with us back home next off-season.

I’m very depressed you’re leaving. As a fan of baseball, and you, of course, I’m so happy you get the opportunity to call games on TV for the Angels. Now my second favorite team. All the best, Wayne! Oh, and put in a good word to Ohtani so he can come to the Mets next year! 😜

I’m a huge Mets fan living in Las Vegas. I’ve been subjected to the dreadful Angels TV broadcasts for 20 years (I said what I said).
FINALLY, they’ll have a pro in there with real talent.
Congratulations!

Easy choice for the Angels org. You were great on radio but when I heard you on TV I knew it was just a matter of time. Best of luck. LGM
