What do you do when you’re mistaken for someone else? Well, fans recently confused a Pittsburgh Pirates player and his girlfriend for none other than Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne, and the player at the center of this mix-up is Bubba Chandler. While it’s understandable why this confusion unfolded, it’s completely bizarre how things went.

Recently, Chandler went to Baton Rouge, where he visited Paul Skenes and explored the city. As Chandler and his girlfriend made their way back to the airport, a few fans approached them, completely convinced they were meeting Skenes and Dunne. Without asking many questions and noticing the glove in Chandler’s hand, they excitedly requested a picture. 

Now, Chandler, as a celebrity, assumed this incident was the result of his fame and agreed. “(They) didn’t ask anything. Like, hey, are you Paul or are you Libby?” he explained, continuing, “They’re like oh, my god, can we get a picture please, please, please? And we’re like yeah, sure.” He humorously recalled this incident in a recent interview with Foul Territory on Twitter; after the picture, while they were walking away, Chandler had heard them say, “No way, we just met Paul and Livvy.”

Chandler got a kick out of the whole thing, and he decided not to correct it. “But they’d be disappointed,” he explained. Turns out, people have mistaken Chandler for Paul Skenes more than a few times.“It’s been a couple of times traveling this off-season at the airport. People were like, you Paul Skenes?” Well, Chandler not only shares a clubhouse with Skenes but also some striking similarities; for starters, they are both baseballers. On top of that, both are in public relationships with their stunning girlfriends. Add in the hair, the mustache, and the fact that they’re on the same team, and they are a perfect pair to be mistaken for one another. 

After this incident, Chandler couldn’t help but joke about his frustration. “People always ask me what Paul’s like, and I’m like, ‘Dude, great guy’,” adding, “Then they’re like, ‘Hey, y’all look pretty similar,’” before clarifying, “50 pounds and 3 inches. It’s big difference.” The couple at the heart of this mix-up is causing quite a frenzy, though: Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne have a growing fanbase that has caused unexpected consequences.

While fans mistook Chandler and his girlfriend for the power couple due to Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne’s popularity, Olivia continues to make headlines. The social media star is currently dealing with a knee injury, which has sidelined her. However, her presence isn’t slowing down anytime soon. While her return date is uncertain, her influence exists beyond the LSU Tigers. 

On the other hand, Paul Skenes is in spring training with the Pittsburgh Pirates, hustling hard to prepare for post-season success. Fans would expect Paul Skenes, her boyfriend, to make an appearance next to her.
