Fans have been treated to wonderful gestures from their favorite stars of late. The first one is the Padres’ pitcher Blake Snell, fulfilling the wish of a 96-year-old fan. The other one also left people in tears as a player of the Philadelphia Phillies stepped up and did something beautiful for a fan.

It was game 2 of the NLCS series, which, even if the Phillies did not win, the shortstop Bryson Stott stepped up with a beautiful gesture toward a fan who came a long way to see his favorite team play.
In all these years, the Phillies have only won seven National League Pennants, their last one coming in 1998. Their opponent in the NLCS, SD Padres, had also won their second and last NLCS pennant in the same year as the Phillies. The difference between the two is that Phillies being an older team than the Padres, have won two World Series, but Padres haven’t won any. Four games are now left in the NLCS to decide who will be playing the World Series, either with the Yankees or the Astros.
Despite the team’s disappointing performances of late, one of the Phillies stars took the onus to welcome a fan who suffered a tragic loss recently.
Where did the fan of the Philadelphia Phillies come from, and what was special about it?
Geoff Crawley, who lives in Washington DC, came over to San Diego to see his favorite team, the Phillies, play in the NLCS. The reason behind flying from DC to SD was that it was way cheaper to see a game in SD compared to DC during the NLCS. Another thing that was special about this fan was the seat beside him. On his left seat, a sweatshirt was there, having Geoff’s father’s picture on it. Geoff lost his dad in July of this year to cancer and brought his father with him to see probably both of their favorite team in action.

The fan’s story was enough to melt people’s hearts, but what made it even more special was the MLB star’s beautiful gesture.
