The tradition of giving rings to the players dates back to the 1900s when the Giants first gifted their players rings for winning the NL pennant. It is an indeed old tradition, but certainly, the one that the players like. After all, the ring shows the hard work they put in.
The Phillies’ 2022 NLCS ring consists of the liberty bell logo with Phillies written on it, consisting of 0.82 carats showcasing the 82 Phillies hits through the NLCS. Then comes the emerald-cut white diamonds set in a shape of a brick to pay homage to the Citizens Bank Park. After the emerald cuts come 96 diamonds studded in the word CHAMPIONS, showing all the 96 wins of the Phillies through the NLCS.
Under the word CHAMPION comes a layer of 63 rubies for all 63 players who will be receiving this ring. All this comes only at the top of the ring, and inside of the ring, cap, player side, team side, and underside are a whole different story.
Everything from the team’s postseason theme song to the NLCS wins to the homage to the iconic symbol of American Independence is present on the Phillies’ star-studded NLCS ring.
