Doppelgängers may or may not be real, but people with similar features are. It is not an unknown fact that SNL comedian Pete Davidson once took full advantage of it. It is a comedian’s job to make people laugh with their quirks, and Davidson did his best with the MLB team, Miami Marlins.

Fortunately for Pete, he did find his look-alike in this life. And that person was somewhat near him, or at least in the same country as him; the former outfielder of the Marlins, Christian Yelich.
Pete found out that his look-alike was a professional baseball player for the Marlins. Being a renowned comedian, he had to pull one of his quirks to surprise the Marlins, especially Yelich. He pulled off his trick with such ease that it did serve its purpose of the team having a fun time.
What trick did Pete Davidson pull off with the Miami Marlins?
The uncanny resemblance between Davidson and Yelich had already started to make its presence known on social media. And it eventually got to the management of the Miami Marlins. Therefore, involving the player’s apparent doppelgänger, Pete Davidson, the management organized a surprise for Christian Yelich and his teammates.
During the 2015 regular season, in mid-September, when the players were about to start the batting practice, another Christian Yelich came on the field. Just like the other players, the ‘other Yelich’ was also dressed up in Marlins’ gear from head to toe. But the ‘other Yelich’ was the comedian who could easily get misconstrued as Yelich in some places.

As the comedian got on the field, Yelich was getting ready in the dugout and naturally was surprised, along with his teammates. Later, they all laughed about it together, and Davidson did get some batting practice in his corner.
How successful was Yelich with the Marlins?
A year after making his debut in the Major League with the Marlins in 2003, Yelich won a Gold Glove award. At that point, he became the franchise’s youngest player and the first outfielder to win that award.

He signed a seven-year contract with the Marlins in March 2015. But his game was affected due to multiple injuries. Thus, in the 2017-18 off-season, he was traded to the Brewers. From that moment on, he has gone on to enjoy a successful career in the MLB.
