The 2023 Postseason is approaching with strange events. While major leagues have the tradition of turning the tables rapidly, players often get severely affected. Even the most decent players become aggressive. The recent Cincinnati Reds vs. The New York Mets game witnessed a similar incident.

Pete Alonso, well-known as the Polar Bear, is one of the calmest players who is hardly seen creating disputes. But the current Mets’ season even forced him to come out of his image, showing a different side of him. The New York Mets keep losing, causing their players to act strangely as the season comes to an end.

The Playoffs are only a few steps away, and The Mets are already standing 4th in the NL East. The season has not gone right for them, and their last defeat against the Reds pushed them another step away from the playoffs. They opened their series with a 5-3 defeat.

None ever really saw the Mets’ Infielder angry or behaving rudely to his teammates. However, losing continuous games even triggered the legend to lose his mind and refuse a teammate’s help aggressively. A Twitter video from the last game showed the cool Polar Bear behaving ‘not-so-cool’ when his team is on the verge of losing the game, despite his Home Run.

The New York Mets’ 2023 MLB journey has almost reached an end. On the other hand, one of the newest MLB teams, the Cincinnati Reds, paved their way through struggles. They received hard punches and returned them. Even in the last game, their Infielder, Jonathon India, hit a record-breaking Home Run in the seventh innings to take their team another step forward. With the last game win, The Reds secured the Wild Card Spot.

The Mets also tried hard. Especially Grant Hartwig and Pete Alonso. While Alonso hit the Home Run in the sixth innings, Hartwig took the lead in the seventh. Unfortunately, it was not their day. Despite the Mets’ 3x All-Star’s powerful performance, things came to a tragic end for the Mets. However, the Polar Bear made history.

Pete Alonso’s Home Run Journey in 2023

The New York Mets’ journey was not great this season, but that didn’t stop their legendary infielder from reaching a milestone. With his last Home Run against the Reds’ the Polar Bear reached 45 Home Run in this season. He placed himself with the Legends, who have 45 Home Runs in multiple seasons in their first five MLB seasons- like Ralph Kiner, Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder, etc.,

First, Pittsburgh Pirates’ Ralph Kiner reached this milestone and stayed there alone for almost 60 years before Ryan Howard and Prince Fielder joined him in 2009 and 2010, respectively. After 13 years, Alonso reached this milestone by hitting his first 45 Home Runs in 2019.
