Did Aaron Judge's 49th homer save Carlos Rodon's season? What a game-changer!

We all want to sleep peacefully at night, don’t we? Well, that hasn’t been the case with Carlos Rodón’s wife for some time, but it all changes tonight. Roden has had a topsy-turvy season this year. He started out hot, then slumped hard in the middle, and is now getting back to his best. This season is particularly important for him, as 2023 was his career’s worst season of all. And when it comes to baseball, every swing of the bat can change the whole game.

For Ashley Rodon, wife of Carlos, the excitement reached new heights recently. After Aaron Judge smacked his 49th homer of the season, a wave of relief washed over Ashley. This moment served as a turning point, not just for the team but for her husband as well, enabling him to throw one of his best games of the season in a 3-0 shutout over the Colorado Rockies.

Admittedly, the recent competition hasn’t exactly been top-tier, but that doesn’t diminish the impact of the Yankees’ starting rotation. In fact, they’ve been rock-solid, giving up two runs or fewer in 10 of their last 13 starts. The rejuvenated pitching staff is a key factor in the Yankees’ recent surge and could be crucial as they eye a postseason push. A lot of fans took a sigh of relief, including Rodón’s biggest fan, his wife. Ashley used Instagram to show her appreciation for her husband and wrote on her story, “I felt the same W, peaceful night of sleep coming.”

Rodon had been facing tough times on the field. It’s like trying to ride a bike uphill when the wind’s blowing against you. No one enjoys struggling in front of fans, and he feels the pressure. However, witnessing Judge’s success seemed to flip a switch for him. With each swing, the spirit of the game rekindled the fire within Carlos, pushing him to shake off the doubts that had been clouding his mind. “As we know, he’s probably the best hitter in this game. He’s a great player but he’s a better teammate and better man, for sure,” Carlos Rodón reflected on Aaron Judge.

With approx. 38,910 people in attendance yelling “M-V-P! M-V-P!” The All-Rise star struck out Kyle Freeland (3-6) with a 388-foot home run to left center, marking his fourth straight game of home runs. Judge lined out and grounded into a double play in previous at-bats.

Carlos Rodón, in particular, was sharp against the struggling Rockies (47-82), tossing six innings of one-run ball, allowing just four hits and a walk while fanning five. This was a significant turnaround from his previous outing in Detroit, where he battled through 3 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on 90 pitches. The Yankees appear to be reverting to their earlier-season form because of their potent offensive lineup, which includes stars like Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge.

On Friday night, Carlos Rodon added to the Yankees’ pitching renaissance with a stellar performance, continuing the team’s impressive run. His outing marked the third consecutive scoreless start for the Yankees, who have now gone an impressive 19 straight innings without allowing a run. This pitching surge has been nothing short of transformative, with the Yankees shutting out their opponents in four of their last five games, five of their last seven, and six of their last nine.
