It’s just been 24 hours since GQ Sports dropped the iconic photoshoot featuring Skenes and Dunne, and it’s all everyone is talking about. After all, it was simply iconic. The pictures screamed the effortless chemistry these two share. Skenes, himself, reacted to the photoshoot in the most unexpected and hilarious way possible after his start against the Tampa Bay Rays. He pitched seven innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits to help the Pirates to a 4-2 win against the Rays.

Despite looking like the OG star model of GQ Sports, Skenes revealed that he was clueless about what GQ is until the offer came. In an interview with Jomboy Media, the interviewer sarcastically called him out, asking, “Hey, you’re always well-dressed, but we didn’t know we were talking to a GQ model today. What’s that all about?”

Skenes, aware of all the teasing he was about to get from his teammates, replied, “I’m going to get some flack in the locker room today.” He added, “I didn’t know what GQ was until the offer came. But I’m glad I did it. Did you think I looked good?”. He admitted that this stepping outside of his forte was never his plan. But when the opportunity knocked, he embraced it.
