The New York Yankees, one of the biggest and most successful franchises in Major League Baseball, have their own rules and regulations. However, Yankees’ infielder, Jazz Chisholm Jr., has revealed some unique rules for the players who represent the club. The reason for such rules? Rumors indicated the Yankees expressing overtly themselves with excessive celebrations during the games, bullying other players, and more.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. is one such player who loves to overtly express himself in the league; however, this has often garnered his criticism. But given the strict rules and regulations of the Yankees just before his trade from the Miami Marlins in July, it was assumed that Chisholm’s on-field tactics and expressions would not align with those rules. Soon after the news of the new set of rules and regulations by the New York Yankees came around, their star, Jazz Chisholm Jr., put an end to all rumors. He has been an integral part of the team since it ran through the World Championship Series in 2024 and finished with. 256 average, 73 RBIs, 24 home runs, and 40 stolen bases.
Now, on February 8, Chisholm confessed on the The Absolutely Ridiculous Show episode, “There’s really no rule. In the end, there are only two rules. You gotta shave your beard, and you gotta play without earrings. That’s the only two real rules in the Yankees organization. But you would think like they have rules like you can’t wear this color, you can’t wear that color, you gotta wear black; none of those exist, I promise you.”

So, Jazz Chisholm Jr. has dismissed the concept of strict and rigid rules being implemented by the Yankees to change players’ behaviors on the field. Rather, getting a clean shave and not wearing any earrings are pretty standard practices across many sports teams and leagues. While Chisholm’s flashy appearance has garnered some criticism, aspects like him changing his hair color drew praise from players like Trey Turner and Bryce Harper. Given his unwavering personality, Chisholm never bothers much about the outside noise. The New York Yankees, though, have some extra plans for him!
The Yankees plan some changes for Jazz Chisholm Jr.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been one of the major trade acquisitions for the Yankees in the 2024 offseason. Chisholm played for the Miami Marlins before his entry to the Bronx Bombers, who sent three of their players to convince the All-Star player. Now, with the 26-year-old becoming a part of the Yankees’ lineup, Brian Cashman confirmed his plans to change the position of their second baseman, Gleyber Torres, making him play at third base. However, it contradicts Aaron Boone’s thinking. Chisholm also offers the desired flexibility to the infield, and he could be transitioned well until Torres joins the Detroit Tigers the next season.

So, Jazz Chisholm Jr. was shifted to third base and Gleyber Torres to second because he shared his unwillingness to play at third. He had a slash line average of .273/.345/.480, hitting 11 home runs, 23 RBIs, 18 stolen bases, and .825 OPS in his 46 regular season games with the Yankees, which displayed his sheer power and great clutch ability that the Yankees often looked for.
