Even though it was a gift on his first-day of being an analyst, Jeter was not in favor of accepting it.

Given the familiarity, Jeter expected it to be a great first day as an analyst, but Ortiz had another plan. Bringing the Red Sox- Yankees rivalry into the picture, Ortiz gifted Jeter a Red Sox jersey, which had an expected reaction from Jeter.

FOX Sports: MLB shared a video clip of the entire episode. It read, “Big Papi had a special gift for The Captain’s studio analyst debut…A…@derekjeter Red Sox jersey.”

Given the fierce rivalry the two teams have shared over the past, Jeter found the gift of not even taking a second look. Reacting to the entire episode, he shared his response. It read, “One of the worst gifts I’ve ever gotten.” The end eventually brought laughter to the studio, leaving everyone with a big smile on their face.
