Stadiums play a crucial role in physical sports. Every organization wants to have a state-of-the-art facility at its peril. To make this happen that new stadiums are built to accommodate all the major requirements. This is also the case with the Former World Series Champions Oakland Athletics, who have plans to have a new stadium.

The team currently plays in Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on a lease, that expires in 2024. The Athletics are looking to finish the job soon to get started from 2025 onwards. It is also to be noted that John Fisher-owned A’s have failed to attract baseball fans to their stadium for a long time. So the question is, has a new site been considered for the A’s?

The Athletics seems to have found an alternative to the earlier proposed site. This possibly happened after the failure of getting a $500 million tax deferment package. The package was for the earlier proposed site in the west of the Las Vegas Strip. The reports suggest that the Athletics have found an understanding in which Tropicana will be demolished for the new build $1.5 billion stadium on the Vegas Strip. This was also shared by the Las Vegas Locally on Twitter.

The caption stated, ” The Oakland A’s have made a deal with Bally’s Corp. to demolish the Tropicana and build a $1.5 billion ballpark on the Vegas Strip, per @howardstutz.”

In addition, the reports are that the Athletics are going for public financing for this. The amount targeted is $395 million and will be less than the earlier ask. The proposed design is for a 35,000-seat retractable roof stadium, which was in the mind of everyone from the start of the negotiations.

They added, According to reports, the @Athletics  will ask for $395 million in public financing if they build the stadium on the Tropicana site, instead of the $500 million they wanted for building on the 49-acre Red Rock Resorts land. We wish them luck with that.”
