When the entire world is sending condolence messages to the Royal Family, MLB great, Reggie Jackson has come up with the best tribute to honor the late queen Elizabeth II.

A five-time World Series winner and the Baseball Hall of Famer, Reggie Jackson, needs no introduction. Having played for the New York Yankees and the Oakland Athletics, Jackson was one of the finest hitters in the game.

Many people might not this, but the Yankees legend’s character killed Queen Elizabeth’s impersonator in a film named, ‘The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!’ during a baseball game in America. And now, when the queen is no more, Reggie has come up with a hilarious tribute to Queen Elizabeth.

Now, no one can blame Reggie Jackson for Queen Elizabeth’s death

Per Yahoo Sports, in the film, “The Naked Gun,” when Queen Elizabeth attended a baseball game in the movie, the villain hypnotizes Reggie Jackson and forces him to kill “Her Majesty” with a gun. 

Now, following the death of Queen Elizabeth, the Oakland Athletics legend has paid his respect with a reference to the same film.

Taking to Twitter, Jackson said that now people know he did not kill the queen. “Now we all know I was innocent! Amen! RIP Queen E [Elizabeth]!” Reggie Jackson tweeted.

When Jackson met Queen Elizabeth for real

Although ‘The Naked Gun’ film had a Queen Elizabeth impersonator, not the real queen, Jackson once met the real Queen before a game. Renowned MLB insider, Bryan Hoch, shared the incident on Twitter.

“When the Yankees were in London, I asked Reggie Jackson about filming “The Naked Gun,” which had a Queen Elizabeth impersonator. He told me he once met the real Queen before a game,” the tweet said. “According to 44, she was impressed that he took off his ballcap, which she called a “bonnet.”

When talking about Reggie Jackson, the Athletics legend had a remarkable MLB career.  He is one of those rare baseball players who won a hat-trick of the World Series with the Oakland Athletics. Later, he joined the New York Yankees, where he won two more championships.
