Clemens is a renowned MLB name with 7x Cy Young awards. But he used to have his own way of dealing with hitters before the game, especially from the opposing ones. During the interview, Ben Verlander brought up the topic of the former Yankees pitcher’s non-interacting policy. In reply, Jeter, without a single thought, said, “That’s very true.” He further continued his point, saying, “He didn’t want to interact with the hitters because I think he wanted that intimidation factor. And it worked.”

Clemans and Jeter had played as rivals for many years and had also been teammates for four years. The former team captain revealed he used to get hit by Rocket’s pitches as a rival. When they became teammates, Jeter said, “I joked about it with him when he came over to New York, but he hit me all the time.” The 11x All-Star player said Clemans was a big man who was “not trying to be friendly.”
