The Los Angeles Dodgers have been a force to be reckoned with this season. Sure, the team had to struggle with an alarming number of injured players, but things healed steadily. And how can we forget their star, Shohei Ohtani, who etched his name in history with his inaugural entry to the 50-50 club! But while everything seemed rosy, a fear lingered—how would they do postseason?
After their 2020 triumph, things have been dry for the team, almost getting knocked out in the first playoff round itself. There wasn’t much hope, in fact, many dismissed the Dodgers making it to the NLCS too. But they proved them all wrong, with Max Muncy, one of the team’s most vocal supporters, remaining confident. He also stated that the mistakes of the past won’t be repeated this time around.

Even this time, after their win with the Mets for Game 1, Max Muncy highlighted the team’s goals. “We’re not going to let that happen again” is what Max Muncy showcased as the vibe within the Dodgers lineup. They have seen plenty of battles, not just on the field over the past years, but also off the field. This year, for example, Freddie Freeman and his struggle with his son’s auto-immune condition is no secret. Yet, despite all odds, the team prevailed.
Max Muncy also mentioned that the enormous blows brought the team members closer, which helped everyone join forces together. Well, till now, the Dodgers have been on fire, but it only remains to see if they can keep up the pace. Talking about injuries and pace, their star player, Ohtani, recently had his head almost hit by his fiercest competitor.

Shohei Ohtani could’ve been seeing doubles!
Shohei Ohtani and Francisco Lindor are two of the brightest stars of the National League. They both have been leading their teams and have proven their worth on why they are front runners for this year’s NL MVP. So, when they got together for the NLCS clash, it was bound to be a starry event, but little did Ohtani know that if fate didn’t help, he could have seen the stars!
In game 1 of the nail-biting series, Francisco Lindor fired a throw to first base to catch a runner. But, the ball came dangerously close to Shohei Ohtani, who was unaware of the near miss, and that he could have been hit by a rocket of a throw. But all is well that ends well – the Dodgers did win the game with the 9-0 lead. This was the first of their best-of-seven series.

Meanwhile, Francisco Lindor emphasized that they are determined to make a better comeback. “We’ve got to figure out a way to come back (Monday) and play better,” Lindor noted, going 0-3 with one walk. So, it’s clear that the Mets are regrouping, and want to make a strong comeback. Do you think they can break the streak that the Dodgers have been won with the wins? Let us know in the comments.
