Julio Rodriguez is having a wonderful time in the ongoing MLB season. Days after hitting 20 home runs in his rookie season, the star rookie has signed a long-term extension with the Seattle Mariners.

Notably, earlier on Friday, the Mariners extend Rodriguez?s contract for 14 years for a guaranteed $210 million. And if he continues to perform at the highest level, this deal could be worth over $450 million.

The Mariners are also having a great season this year. However, they are in the same group as the Houston Astros, one of the strongest sides in the entire MLB. But still, they can become a serious threat during the postseason games. When talking about Julio Rodriguez, the Mariners outfielder was more than happy to extend his stay in Seattle.

Julio Rodriguez wants to be a Mariner for the rest of his career

Taking to Twitter, Julio Rodriguez shared his love for being the Mariners. The star rookie said there is no better place than Seattle to play baseball.

?No words can describe what this city and this team mean to me and my family. There?s no place in the world I would rather be. We still have work to do Seattle, let?s get it!? Rodriguez tweeted.

Per Sports Max, the Mariners rookie, also said that he wants to play for the Mariners for the rest of his professional career. “This is not about the contract and how long it is. I would love to be a Mariner for the rest of my career and playing for the Mariners fans,” Rodriguez said.?

“Play with a lot of these guys here and be managed by Scott (Servais), have Ty (France) as my babysitter. I genuinely mean that. I love being here,? he concluded.

When talking about his contract, it can go beyond 14 years. Yes! The Sports Max report also said if Rodriguez manages to win two MVPs during his contract, the mariners have an option to extend his contract, and then the contract will be worth a whopping $469.6 million.
