When two iconic baseball teams like the Dodgers and the Yankees face off in the World Series, you’d think the hype would be palpable. Yet, here we are, staring down a documentary from a tech giant, one that claims to capture the drama and intensity of a championship showdown. Fans, however, seem to be questioning if anyone actually wants to see it—or if anyone even cares.
The 2024 World Series was one of the most entertaining series we have had in many years. This series wasn’t known for its close games but don’t ask Nestor Cortez because he thinks the Yankees were the better team and should have won. Instead, it was more defined by its one-sided nature, though it still featured some very key moments that made it unforgettable.
MLB has just announced that an in-depth series about the 2024 World Series is coming out. They announced through their X handle saying, “JUST IN: Apple drops the trailer for the Dodgers and Yankees World Series documentary #FightForGlory premieres March 28 on @AppleTV.”

While the league thought this would be a massive success like some of the other shows, it seems that they have completely got this wrong. Some fans want to know what Aaron Boone was thinking in game 1, what happened after the Freeman home run, and what the mood was after the Yankees capitulated in game 5. But most of the fans don’t want to see the same thing they saw online or on TV and relive their pain again.
In the end, MLB might have miscalculated the appetite for an in-depth look at this particular World Series. While some may be curious to revisit key moments, most fans would rather forget the whole thing and move on. After all, who needs a documentary when the real drama was already lived—and lost—in real-time?
Fans give mixed reactions after the announcement of the new Dodgers vs. Yankees documentary
When two of the most storied teams in baseball history collide in the World Series, you’d expect nothing less than a thrilling narrative. Yet, the latest attempt to turn this year’s showdown into a documentary has left fans divided. Some are eager for behind-the-scenes insight, while others are just hoping to avoid reliving their pain.

No one cares about this shit respectfully https://t.co/TGK2hy8Gx4

No one cares would not be the right phrase to use here. While many of the fans think that it will be a complete waste of time as there was no competition in the series, there is one thing that makes any documentaries good, spice. This World Series was full of drama, and it was filled with big stars. While some stars like Freddie Freeman stepped up grandly in the game 1, some others like Aaron Judge fumbled the whole series in one inning. The way Judge performed in the regular season, one had high hopes for his playoffs but his sheer inability to keep up exposed him to a lot of criticism.
bottom of the 10th, bases loaded, Freddie walks up to the plate

This is the moment you have all been waiting for: the complete breakdown of one of the best moments in baseball history. The one and only Freddie Freeman stepping up and smashing the first nail in the coffin for the New York Yankees. This moment will be one of the most watched things in the whole documentary. That Grand Slam to get the Dodgers past the Yankees in game 1 was one of the best moments for a Dodgers fan.
Nothing can hurt me in life. I lived this pain in real time.
I’ll be turning this on and wearing that pain again. Will motivate me to move on and be ready for 2025.
— Cole Keener (@Colekeen24) March 17, 2025
All the Yankees fans suffered this pain in real time and if they say it doesn’t hurt, they are lying. That’s because no human will be able to take their team losing a game without any fight. While some fans will not be able to watch the series because of the pain, this fan wants to watch it so that it will become easy for him to move on and get ready for the 2025 season.
The title is "5th inning disaster in newyork"
— Pax United Ind (@paxunitedindo) March 17, 2025
This might legit be one of the titles of the episode cause this is exactly where the New York Yankees lost the whole series. The amount of pain just this one inning brought to the Yankees and their fans was immense. That 5th inning in game 5 cost the Yankees the whole series. Three mistakes by top players like Aaron Judge, Anthony Volpe, and Anthony Rizzo led the Dodgers to take the game right out of the hands of the Yankees.

Yankees fans gonna enjoy this one
— LakerRagu (@thegr8kobe) March 17, 2025
Sarcasm. This is how they are trolling the Yankees now. While the whole series except for game 4 was just filled with pain for the Yankees, the fans will not be able to sit and watch this again. This is going to be too much for any of the rivals to watch let alone the Yankees.

At the end of the day, this documentary might be more therapeutic for the Los Angeles Dodgers than for any Yankee fan still licking their wounds. It’s one thing to relive triumph, but entirely another to endure a painful reminder of a series lost without a fight. For the Yankees, watching this may just be the ultimate test of resilience—or denial.
