MLB icon Alex Rodriguez rose to prominence in the baseball world by playing the game for over two decades and earning numerous accolades to his name. During his career, A-Rod remained a polarizing figure both on and off the field. Despite a few hiccups in his baseball career, the name Alex Rodriguez continued to have its mark in the sports world and the business world as well.

But little did anyone know, the mighty ball player who was earning millions from his Yankees’ salary would need convincing whether a hotdog was indeed a hotdog but not a sandwich. Yes! The former MLB slugger needed convincing on such a minor thing as a hotdog.

The second last year of A-Rod’s star-studded career was the anticipated one of all. It’s because, in 2015, Rodriguez was making a comeback to the diamond after serving a year-long suspension. However, as soon as he hit the field, he shocked every fan with his fantastic gameplay.

Ahead of one of the games at Citi Field against the Yankees’ cross-town rivals, the New York Mets, famous tv host Katie Nolan met with A-Rod. When meeting A-Rod for an interview, one would imagine she would ask him something related to the game, but Katie popped the hotdog question to the Yankees legend.

It was a debate going on at the time, and Nolan took it upon herself to settle it once and for all. While answering A-Rod, she said, “No, no. It’s a hot dog because no one says a hot dog sandwich. That’s like asking if a piece of turkey is a sandwich. It’s not. It’s a piece of Turkey.”

And that was it. Katie Nolan, back in 2015, finally settled the debate if a sandwich and a hotdog were the same.

A-Rod had a remarkable comeback!

During his entire MLB career, A-Rod always had many eyes on him, watching his every move. But 2015 was different. The number of people who wanted to see A-Rod’s transformation after a year was countless. And by ending the season by hitting 33 homers and driving in 86 runs throughout the season, Rodriguez shocked them all.
