Being a celebrity isn’t easy. With excessive success and popularity comes a consistently extending list of scrutiny and rumors. Analogous to that, two great New Yorkers, Derek Jeter and Eli Manning, recently spoke about the perpetual public eye, lack of privacy, and how gossip pages consistently run rumors about them.
New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning spoke about Page Six in particular while mentioning various other gossip pages and ubiquitously shedding light on how he “loves” these columns.
Captain Clutch loves gossip pages… or does he not?

This segment of the conversation began with Eli Manning asking Captain Clutch about Page Six. He said in a YouTube video posted by the New York Giants, “You don’t remember page six?” The conversation continued with Derek Jeter speaking about his experience with these pages, without directly mentioning his dislike for them.

He said, “Oh look, I will never say anything bad about the gossip pages ever. Just on record, I did not say a bad thing about page six or the gossip pages. I love all you guys. But when anytime there’s something up in your private life, that’s probably not true, you got a bunch of times.”
Eventually, Eli Backed him up with his claims, and said, “Yeah, no doubt… Just say nothing. Stay away from it all. That’s a good bet.”
Eli Manning’s brother preferred Derek Jeter as the greatest New Yorker
In a video from 2016, multiple sports players, including Tom Brady and Jeter, amongst others, narrated a letter they received from Eli Manning’s brother, Peyton Manning writes. In the video, along with excessive praise for the Yankees captain and five-time World Champion Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning makes a shocking revelation and picks Derek Jeter as his favorite New York sports player.
He says, “PS—Just wanted to let you know you were my favorite New York athlete. Don’t tell Eli. or tell him. I don’t care. Scr*w it.”

Notably, Derek Jeter and both Manning brothers were good friends. Especially Eli Manning, who played alongside Jeter in New York.
