Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is the big name in the NFL circle. However, his love for baseball is also very much visible as he played baseball till high school and has continued to adore it till now. The same prompted him to make an $11 million investment in Kansas City Royals for a percent of the stake. Because of this, they have often asked Mahomes questions related to MLB, including the recent one shared by Baseball Bros Twitter handle.

Notably, the reporter asked about the best in the league, to which 2x Super Bowl MVP, after a bit of thinking, said that Bobby Witt Jr. could clinch that crown at some point. Interestingly, he plays for the Royals only, which brings the investment in Kansas City into the picture. Given that he chose Bobby, did he outshine Hal Steinbrenner’s investment in Anthony Volpe?
The Yankees signed Volpe for the shortstop position. But he has yet to live up to the expectations. In the season so far, he is averaging 0.217 with 17 HRs. 50 RBIs at an OPS of 0.688. While Royals’ Bobby is averaging 0.278. He has also scored 25 HRs and 80 RBIs at an OPS of 0.816. The numbers prove that Mahomes’s investment in the club and bet on Bobby is successful.
And after this success, he is now party to the Royals’ big $2 Billion project, which is related to a new stadium. He might also win over other big MLB investors here. But was his investment in Bobby enough for him to get the fan’s support?
