Derek Jeter dedicated twenty seasons to Major League Baseball and became a household name in the Bronx. But in addition to his sport, Jeter has also focused on giving back to society whenever possible. The son of a former substance abuse counselor, the ex-shortstop, set out to help kids in need in 1996. And so was born the Turn 2 Foundation.
Focusing on supporting teenagers ‘turn to‘ healthy lifestyles instead of drugs or alcohol, Jeter has helped many. His non-profit organization also holds various events to raise money and awareness annually. One of them is the Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament, which is bringing back some old faces as well as inviting new ones this year. From NFL legend Rob Gronkowski to Jeter’s Yankee teammate, CC Sabathia, several celebrities are participating in the charity event.
